Tottenham Boss Frank Calls Vicario Booers 'Not True Real Fans'
Fulham Start Strong to Beat Tottenham and Raise Pressure on Frank
Tottenham Hotspur fans who jeered goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed later "those individuals cannot be real Tottenham fans" by manager Frank.
Tottenham let in a pair of goals in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their tenth top-flight at home defeat of the year.
But the main topic of discussion was the visitors' next score when Vicario gave away possession well outside his box.
The goalkeeper came out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball towards the sideline.
However, instead of kicking it into touch, the Italy international turned and tried to clear, but slipped as the ball skimmed off Wilson and was controlled by King.
King laid the ball off to Welsh midfield player Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the sideline recorded at thirty-six point six yards.
Moments afterwards when the ball went to Vicario again, some Tottenham fans booed him.
The team were booed off at half-time, with the side 2-0 behind, and again at the final whistle.
A particular of those jeering episodes really irritated the manager.
"It came to my attention a few of our supporters apparently booed the incident and jeered following, which, in my opinion is totally unacceptable," the Danish manager commented about the supporters' reaction to his goalkeeper.
"[They] can't be true Tottenham fans that act that way. Alright booing following the game, no problem, but when we are in play, we are backing each other, we are with each other moving ahead."
Tete had given the visitors a fourth-minute lead prior to Wilson's strike – with Kudus netting for Tottenham in an improved second-half showing.
Former top-flight goalkeeper Joe Hart remarked that the second goal was "completely preventable".
"I certainly appreciate the supporters' frustration," the ex-keeper continued. "I am aware the part Vicario is playing. He is a excellent team player, he is a true figure in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your decisions.
"He was deeply involved in what turned out to be the decisive goal."
'It is Part of Football, I Can Handle It'
Frank Defended His Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario After the Match
Italy international the keeper is in his third season with Tottenham.
He stated after the match that he had to take the criticism.
"The second score was a mistake of mine, I accept responsibility for that," he said.
"My aim was to clear the ball far and I simply struck the ball in a bad manner. It was an more difficult challenge to climb."
He stated receiving jeers "is part of football".
"I am mature, how can I respond?" he added. "We cannot be affected by the situation in the stands. The fans have the right to do what they think.
"It is on us to remain more calm, to concentrate on our own performance. We are missing in calmness and calmness to reverse outcomes. This match is a bad loss and it is tough to take."
'It Shocked Me Nobody Returned to the Goal Line'
Despite the keeper's mistake, it was not an easy score for Wilson to convert.
In fact it was the second most distant Premier League goal of the season – after Adams' 43.3 metre goal for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally also came on Saturday.
The goalscorer said he was "somewhat taken aback" that he still had an empty net to aim for.
Ten moments passed between Vicario exiting of his box and Wilson striking – which was 5 moments following the kick.
"It seemed to me like the goalkeeper was out of the box for ages," he said.
"It amazed me not one of the back four returned to the goal line. When not one of them covered the net, my interest sparked a bit.
"Udogie slipped as well, which gave me a bit of extra opportunity. After that it was solely about attempting to achieve the correct connection and get it on target. I had a positive sense, as soon as it came off my boot, that it was on the right line."
'During in a Bad Spell, Everything Appears to Go Against You'
Booing Whilst We Are Still in Play Is Completely Unacceptable - Frank
Although the keeper's error led coverage, this was an all-round bad day for Tottenham to continue their home ground woes.
This was their 10th home defeat of the year in the Premier League, a shared club record along with nineteen ninety-four and two thousand and three.
The side still have home games against Frank's former club the Bees and champions the Reds to come before the close of the year.
Only one of those victories have come after the manager took over from his predecessor in the summer.
"When you're down 2-0 following the opening, there is a mountain to climb," said Frank.
"When you're in a bad spell, all aspects seems to work against you as well – the opening was a redirected shot, the next is a error from Vic.
"This result leaves us in a position where we have suffered another match. Every game has a single story, today we were defeated in the first six minutes.
"We simply need to continue striving. The later period was much better and with luck an aspect we can use to develop."
Spurs have lost 4 straight home London derbies for the first time in the Premier League.
And they are recording nine point five shots and three point two shots on target per match in the division – their lowest rates on file in a single campaign (since at least 2003-04).
Former Cottagers midfield player Danny Murphy stated that Frank has to endure the criticism.
"He must accept the stick," Murphy said. "He has taken a high profile role at a huge football club with enormous anticipation. There is pressure and duty that accompanies that.
"Their showings at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
