Series of Targeted Attacks
Since the beginning of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military officials have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This latest event echoes other notable incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a device concealed on a scooter was set off from a distance.
While a Ukrainian source in the past linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are never formally acknowledged as a matter of standard practice.
The conflict has witnessed clandestine operations extending into the streets of the Russian capital.
