Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.
The Incident
He was omitted from a vital match following criticising the club and suggesting his connection to the head coach had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
