Former BBC Specialists Undergo MPs' Questioning In the Wake of Assertions of Partiality in Unauthorized Document

Former BBC advisers appearing before Members of Parliament

We begin with queries from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who leads the panel.

She commences by giving context to the unauthorized memo authored by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning this way or that way, I simply desire it balanced, fair and fair," he says.

When asked if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, he answers: "No I don't. To be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation creates is world class - including informative and fictional shows."

However, he continues: "There exists significant effort that must be undertaken at the BBC."

A further former external British Broadcasting Corporation specialist questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the BBC with great importance and that it has a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" across dynamic and complex subjects.

"Whether the BBC was ready to engage in a genuine conversation and exchange and take action?" she reflects. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
