Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, but can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
