The United Kingdom is set to progress with using the full worth of seized Russia's assets to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this joint measure would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They clarified that the decision would be implemented in tight collaboration with the America.

UK sanctions have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government initiated its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, resources allocated to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had solely been drawn from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to push forward toward utilizing the total worth of the frozen Russia's state funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that additional sanctions over the next period would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement follows European Union officials gathered in Copenhagen last week to consider utilizing seized Russian assets for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, US President Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to seize or employ immobilized Russian holdings, based on reports.

The value of seized Russian funds in the Europe is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government launched widespread missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on that day, causing blackouts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.
